E-Commerce QA

E-Commerce Testing,Done by People Who've Shipped It

In E-commerce, a checkout bug is a revenue leak and a peak-season outage is a headline. We test the money paths hardest: cart, payment, promotions, and the load spikes that break them.

Real experience, not a brochure
Our team's experience spans marketplace and consumer platforms including a major online dating platform and a home-services marketplace, where conversion funnels and payments were tested as the business-critical systems they are.

End-to-end checkout and payment-gateway coverage (cards, wallets, failures)

Promotion, coupon, and pricing-rule validation

Peak-load Testing before sale events, know your breaking point first

Catalog, search, and inventory integrity checks

Cross-device and accessibility coverage for the full funnel

The money paths deserve disproportionate coverage

Everything on an E-commerce site matters, but not equally.

Everything on an E-commerce site matters, but not equally. A broken filter on a category page costs some engagement. A checkout that rejects a valid card, applies a promotion twice, or silently loses a cart on mobile costs revenue at a rate you can calculate per hour. Coverage should reflect that asymmetry, and in most of the suites we inherit it does not, there is broad, shallow coverage everywhere and no deep, adversarial coverage of the paths where money changes hands.

Our team's experience spans marketplace and consumer platforms, including a major online dating platform and a home-services marketplace, where conversion funnels and payments were tested as the business-critical systems they are. The habit that comes from that work is simple: test the funnel like an attacker and an unlucky customer at the same time.

Where checkout actually breaks

Payment edge cases: declined cards, 3-D Secure challenges and abandonment mid-challenge, expired sessions during payment, duplicate submissions, and the timeout where the gateway succeeded but your system did not hear back.

Promotions and pricing: stacking rules, expiry boundaries, per-customer limits, currency rounding, and tax calculation across regions. Rule interaction is where the expensive defects hide.

Inventory and concurrency: two customers buying the last unit simultaneously, reservations expiring mid-checkout, and catalogue or feed sync leaving prices stale.

Cross-device continuity: carts persisting between guest and logged-in state, and between mobile and desktop, without silently merging or losing lines.

Mobile funnel behaviour: where most traffic now converts, and where autofill, keyboard handling and wallet integrations introduce failures desktop Testing never sees.

Peak readiness is a separate discipline

A store that performs perfectly at ordinary traffic can fall over on the first hour of a sale, and the failure is rarely the web tier, it is a database lock, a third-party rate limit, a cache stampede or a payment provider queue.

A store that performs perfectly at ordinary traffic can fall over on the first hour of a sale, and the failure is rarely the web tier, it is a database lock, a third-party rate limit, a cache stampede or a payment provider queue. We model peak traffic on your real patterns and run load, stress and spike Testing with JMeter or k6 before the event, then correlate the response curve to a named bottleneck with an owner. Finding the breaking point in October is a planning exercise. Finding it on Black Friday is an incident.

Alongside that, accessibility across the funnel is worth treating as commercial rather than compliance work: a checkout that cannot be completed with a keyboard or a screen reader is a checkout that loses customers, in addition to being a legal exposure in the UK, EU and US.

Engagement path

How the engagement runs

How a E-Commerce engagement runs, from first scoping call to a coverage model your team owns.

01

Funnel risk map

We instrument where revenue actually flows, entry, search, product, cart, checkout, payment, confirmation, and rank coverage by drop-off cost.

02

Deep money-path coverage

Payments, promotions, tax, inventory concurrency and cart continuity tested adversarially, including the failure paths gateways rarely document.

03

Peak readiness

Load, stress and spike Testing modelled on your real seasonal traffic, run early enough that remediation is a plan rather than a scramble.

04

Continuous funnel gate

Automated checkout regression on every merge across mobile and desktop, so the money paths are never the part that ships untested.

Self-check

Signs your team needs this

If more than one of these is true, it is usually cheaper to fix now than after the next release.

Checkout defects are discovered from support tickets or drop-off dashboards

A sale or seasonal peak is approaching and capacity is an assumption

Promotion rules interact in ways nobody has mapped, let alone tested

Mobile conversion trails desktop and nobody has tested the mobile funnel properly

A payment gateway timeout has already produced a double charge or a lost order
